PS4 and Xbox One Hacks

Various reports of corruption in console gaming competitions have also arose recently, such as those reports by earlier on this week. Essentially, in many of the world’s biggest console LAN tournaments we have seen many PS4 jailbreak and Xbox One Jailbreak – while many thinks that this only enables console gamers to download free games, this is not the case. Gamers are now using these methods to cheat by scrapping the respective console’s original firmware (OFW) and replacing it with some custom firmware (CFW) that can be used to download cheats from the internet and then implement them directly into the game. These cheats may be subtle wall hacks, aim bots, speed hacks or a wide selection of different versions too. This is something that has solely arose in 2016 as we have never heard reports of this before, and while none from this year remain verified – we believe that this is the case. Various hacking teams have used this publicity to showcase their capabilities with the idea that a professional team could use a custom built hack – win a large FIFA or COD tournament and then transfer the programmer a large proportion of money. Not such a bad business venture at all, but it is one that we here at media initiative would like to see shutdown – as with all corruption, whether it is in the real world or not.

Further developments must be made at LAN tournaments to ensure that this does not become overly prevalent in the scene, if it does then we risk it completely capitulating under the stress of this corruption. As you’re now all starting to see, corruption genuinely is found at every single level of the world and all of its wonderful facets. It seeps into the cracks and there it flourishes until it turns into a huge weed that needs eradicating. We’ve had a total of 24 different reports from people claiming that there was jailbreak based hacking occurring at their tournament and we’ve only managed to just about investigate 5 of them. This is clearly just the tip of the iceberg, as we usually find out with all leaks of corruption, it runs far deeper than what originally meets the eye. This is something that people are going to have to get together around to prevent PS4 and Xbox based LAN competitions from being massively tainted like PC gaming faced back in the early days. This is completely new territory for all of us obviously, but we need to take steps in the right direction urgently in order to mitigate any of the larger risks that our gaming community faces. PS4 jailbreak and Xbox One jailbreak are dangerous and particularly because more and more people are learning how to jailbreak on a daily basis too. Free PSN Code Generators are another issue that Sony are currently trying to tackle for the PS4, however we will mention that in our subsequent posts.

Corruption in Video Games

There have been some seriously interesting musings within the video gaming community over the past week or so, particularly with regards to the formation of the World eSports Association. The press release announcing this formation occurred on Friday and was met with mixed views. WESA came out and stated that debates had been ongoing for over a year leading up to the final formation. WESA (World Esports Association) is made up of senior members of the ESL group and its umbrella coorporation and also some managers from all of the top CSGO teams. They have essentially branded WESA as an attempt to professionalize eSports and effectively oversee all tournament regulations – and more crucially revenue too!

World Esports Association

This last point is what has raised eyebrows across the world, why has ESL designated themselves at the centre of eSports when there are a large number of event organisers today that would be equally deserving of a spot in the agency. WESA has also said that they will be bringing together all stakeholders within esports to enable a fair and well regulated discussion. Well, if we have learnt one thing in the past it is that a monopoly in anything is never a good idea – particularly when large sums of money are involved… Think FIFA for a recent example, but there are many, many from the past. Players, teams, broadcasters and the event organisers will be able to come together through WESA, however this begs the question – did this not occur in the past anyway?

Why is there a need to put a label on everything these days… Anyway, enough ranting. The following teams are involved in the foundation of WESA – and there are a few notable exceptions – Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Natus Vincere, EnvyUs, Faze, Mousesports, Virtus Pro and G2 Esports too. This assembly is missing teams like Astralis and Liquid – and a handful more too. However, likely more significant is the exclusion of CEVO, Gfinity and a large number of other event organisers. ESL has simply gone out there and placed a 40% majority holding over WESA, essentially meaning they will be ruling the game from now on and taking control of the cash flow into and out of the game. Think the Premier League and Sky for another example of this.

Various professional gamers belonging to the teams involved have stood up to defend the public onslaught that has been going on, on reddit this afternoon. But this still doesn’t cover up the grotesquely fishy smell that is coming out from the ESL camp today. Get Right, from the team Ninjas in Pyjamas, stated the following: “It’s an incredibly exciting time to be a part of the esports industry, and its rapid growth in just a few years has made it very clear: there’s growing and more pressing need to structurize it, both on the tournament organizer’s side as well as on the players’ side. WESA will offer us a platform to do just that – organize our work and careers, build a network of safety, and offer a solution to business and legal disputes.”

Examples of Corruption in the UK

When directly comparing the United Kingdom with some countries that are more well renowned for being corrupt, it really does pale in comparison. This is particularly evident when looking at far flung countries run by dictators and the like. Examples have included Silvio Berlusconi and Jacques Chirac in more recent times. Similarly in a sporting sense, there are particularly low levels of corruption once again in Britain and so it’s almost not a fair comparison in the slightest. Some examples of the more well known sporting corruption is the alleged match fixing ordeal in Pakistan and their international cricket team. While all of this is true, there is undoubtedly an underlying sense of corruption throughout the British media and generally large swathes of its upper class too. We may not be able to compete with all of the more massive corruption that is present in today’s world, but our media is learning that the public is becoming significantly more aware of its activities behind closed doors.

Silvio Berlusconi

On the other hand, when not looking at these far flung countries and focusing our attention towards Europe and the EU states instead we can see that our scandals are almost certainly some of the most substantial. In recent years there has been massive leaks of knowledge including various labour, conservative and liberal MPs changing their expenses documents in their favour – Ultimately pocketing themselves a tidy sum of pocket money. Add to this Jimmy Savile’s long standing history of paedophilia and the fact that Frankie Dettori was banned from horse racing for taking performance enhancing drugs too. Similarly, we have seen big companies follow the same path of corruption as these big names have too, one notable example is the Barclays bank that was caught out in the Libor rate fixing scandal.

Furthermore, BAE Systems was also pulled up various times over the past 10 years over arms deals it has been conducting with nations and indeed sects throughout the world. Another key figure that we have seen fallen in relatively recent times, and almost on a continual process is the British police force. There have been cases of policemen, senior ones at that, selling top secret stories to journalists and newspapers. There is corruption at every single level of society and without the public realising this it is difficult for us to see any progress. Unfortunately the media drives this corruption and the average British person does not have interest in joining any form of conquest to stand up against corruption in any sense. Once again, I need to make it quite clear how important it is for us all to stand up against corruption in our world, it is invading our lives and in turn corrupting us with lies and collusion too. This is not something that any of us need and we should all do our part to kick it out, rather than simply sitting back and letting the world tick over.

How You Can Fight Media Corruption

If you personally are seeking to act out against media corruption then you will be extremely pleased to hear that yes, there is an awful lot that you can do to make a difference – and a fairly big one at that too. Most of the time if you don’t try to be a big player, then you will fail to ever become a big player – it’s absolutely crucial that you take action now and try your best to make a difference, wherever you are in the world.

For those of us that live in the United Kingdom, it is far easier than others given the fact that we have relatively good levels of freedom of speech. The media, while it does hold a huge wedge of control over the people and even the government too, we can still say what we want, where we want and ultimately can protest against the current system too.

I think that one thing that people are scared of is being alone out there, attempting to make a change by yourself is a fairly terrifying concept. However, I think that it’s important that people do make that first step into the light and try to make a difference. If none of these people existed in the world, it would be a very different place from the paradise (I’m talking hypothetically here) that it is today. Well, for us in the United Kingdom, despite the strong media presence, it is a paradise. In some of the darkened corners of the world this is not true, not in the slightest. In these countries the media loves control and relentlessly acts against governments and people utilizing propaganda as its main tool. This single tool is extremely powerful and can be used to mobilize entire countries against a particular movement – think the Nazis here.

It is essential that the people learn to recognize the difference between typical journalism and journalism that has been highly influenced by people either in power, or whom have a lot of money – these, as you will all know already, tend to come hand in hand. One thing that I need to get across to you before you all go is that protests are the key in us leaving this abyss. Without protests, nothing will get out there to the more hollow minded among us, we need it to pass our message on. The media and their corruptive ways have a massive head start upon us but with numbers we can mass. Together, in protest, the message will get out and the large media corporations will eventually, inevitably fall. I feel that within the next 10 years we are going to take massive leaps and bounds on these corrupt organisations and I think that within 20 they will be completely dissolved, particularly in the United Kingdom where people are already beginning to wake up from this nightmare. Please let me know what you think about this blog post and I will get back to you all in the comments section below.

Media Initiative – What We’re All About

Hello and welcome to media initiative, here we are going to be talking about what is currently on going in the world in terms of activist action against media organisations. There’s a lot that I would like to cover and probably not enough time to get all of it done, but I’m going to give it my best shot and we’ll see how far that this goes. In an ideal sense I would like to get a few people onto the blog to talk about this issue and hopefully a few people in the audience out there will learn a thing or two about the widespread corruption that we are facing.

Media Corruption

While I am on this topic, I saw something in the news today that sparked an interest for me, firstly the British government – yes, you heard that correctly – the British government is acting against media corruption and various other forms of corruption this year. Conservative leader David Cameron publicly stated today that foreign firms that currently own properties within the United Kingdom are going to have to declare all of these assets publicly – this is aimed at trying to stamp out all forms of foreign based money laundering in the United Kingdom. I’m not actually too confident in this tactic and I think it is being used as somewhat of a curtain to hide the real issues, however I would be more than happy if Mr Cameron proved me wrong.

Companies based within the UK, based domestically, in Europe or indeed anywhere in the world will have to sign up to a newly created open registrar if they would like to purchase property in the United Kingdom. Now for one, nobody can say that this is not a step in the right direction, it really is and I think that if the Conservatives continue to make decisions like these then it is going to be hard for me to not be swayed to vote for them in 2020. Labour failed to make any significant dents into the media corruption that exists today, in fact they actually went against the grain and whilst maintaining that they were trying to devolve power that the media held over government – they actually supported this corruption. I guess the motto of the story is that you can’t believe anything that you read anymore, there always appears to be a hidden motive behind every single decision that comes from a parliamentary figure and this notion doesn’t seem like it is going to be leaving us at any time soon.

I will be back here very soon continuing to post on what I feel most strongly about, please come back to my blog soon to read some more about media corruption and this time what you can do to combat it yourself.
